Thompson Law, PLLC was one of the sponsors of Cleaver’s “Best in Beef” Chef Challenge, held at The District in Sioux Falls on January 17th. Proceeds from the event benefited the Children’s Home Society. The event had 225 guests and raised over $7,655 for the Children’s Home Society.
Top chefs from around the area competed for honors. Guests sampled each of the twelve dishes and voted for their favorite by placing a gold token in the corresponding chef’s vase. The winners were determined by the number of coins received.

Third place was awarded to Chef John Noel Gilbertson, CEC of True Harvest Culinary Services with his Dakota natural beef bacon bites dish, which featured beef bacon instead of the traditional pork bacon.
The evening concluded with a live auction featuring private dinners for eight prepared by the first, second, and third place chefs. Carolyn Thompson won the private meal to be prepared by Chef Matt Muntefering and looks forward to another taste of his talents.
